Thousands of homes and businesses across County Roscommon are this morning without power as Storm Debi brings winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour to large parts of the country. The red weather warning for South Roscommon and East Galway was extended to 7 a.m. overnight. Now an orange wind warning is in place for the entire county until 10 a.m..Schools in all parts of the county have delayed opening until 10 a.m. and some schools have opted to close for the day. People across large parts of County Roscommon from North to South have been hit with power outages with areas badly affected including Boyle, Roosky, and parts of West and South Roscommon. A yellow warning for every county in Ireland came into effect at midnight and is due to remain until 3 p.m. on Monday.
